5/12/96(Lori-Ann)
My manuscript was covered with the cream cheese of a walnut roll. It turned out that I had been eating it the night before and had fallen asleep. I ate the remaining nuts and cream cheese. There were several huge custard-filled rolls and pastries by my refrigerator. I tried each one of them. Some of them were good, some bland, and one, which looked like a giant hot dog roll, tasted bad.
I was going into the gym locker room to change into my bathing suit and go swimming. I had a six-pack of beer under my jacket. I was going to wear my jacket down by the pool, where there was a refrigerator. That way I could keep it cold and start drinking it right when I got home. It seemed that my locker had been reassigned to someone else. It was Lori-Ann. She had just put her clothes in the locker as I was about to open it and put mine in. Another woman came by and explained that she had to take my locker away because my enrollment or membership--whatever it was--had expired. I was trying to figure out what to do with my clothes. I decided it would be all right if I continued to use the locker just for one day. The next day I would find a new one. I opened the locker and hung my clothes over Lori-Anns. I wondered how she would feel about it. I hoped she would realize that her own clothe were still there beneath them. Then I thought it was unfair to have my locker taken away from me. It was fine with me if I just shared it with Lori-Ann. I wished I had approached the other woman about this. Then for some reason I had to take my clothes out of the locker and put them back on. I went to look for another vacant locker. There were some very wide ones and some very thin ones. I was afraid that the wide ones might already belong to other people, and that they might have my lock and clothes removed if I used them. By the time I finally got into my swimsuit again it was about six oclock. So I got dressed again and went home.
